NORA SPRINGS — Brian Dale Squier, 61, Nora Springs, died Friday, Jan. 6, 2017, at the Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.

Funeral arrangements are pending at the Sheckler Colonial Chapel in Nora Springs.

Obituary for Brian Dale Squire

Brian Dale Squier, 61, Nora Springs, died Friday, January 6, 2017, at the Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.

A funeral service for Brian will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 11, 2017, at the Sheckler Colonial Chapel, 114 North Hawkeye, Nora Springs, with Reverend Wendy Johannesen officiating. Burial will be in the Park Cemetery in Nora Springs. Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until service time on Wednesday at the chapel.

Brian Dale Squier was born on March 30, 1955, in Charles City, the son of Kenneth and Shirley (Volkman) Squier.

He was baptized at the hospital in Charles City, and grew up on the family farm near Nora Springs. Throughout his life, Brian lived in group homes in Woodward, Waterloo, Belmond, and Clarion.

Brian loved animals, playing hide and seek, going for walks and riding in the car, and loved the outdoors.

Those left to cherish his memory are his siblings, LouAnn Wogstad of Stacyville, Merry (Ron) Dickens of Waukee, Bruce Squier of Nora Springs, and Karen (Bob) Koenigs of Stacyville; his nieces and nephews, Aaron (Casie) Sheehan of Shakopee, MN, Amanda Blake of Rockwell, Anna Blake of Nora Springs, Christopher Thomas of Des Moines, Sonnie Thomas of Des Moines, Katie (Eric) Parker of Adel, Kenny Wogstad of Mason City, Teresa Mikkelsen of Langdon, ND, and Lynda Wogstad of Waterloo; as well as other extended family members and friends.

Brian was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister-in-law, Trudy Marshall-Squier.
