Barbara "Barb" Davin, 94, of Charles City, Iowa, passed away Sunday, December 25, 2016 at the Nora Springs Care Center in Nora Springs, Iowa.

A funeral service for Barb Davin will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 30, 2016 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Charles City. Pastor Wendy Johannesen from Grace United Methodist Church in Floyd will officiate. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Charles City.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Friday.

Blanche Barbara (Hazard) Davin, the daughter of Kenneth and Elizabeth (Broich) Hazard, was born June 19, 1922 in Casselton, North Dakota. She and her family lived in Sioux Falls, Vermillion and finally settled in Sioux City, Iowa. Barb graduated from Central High in Sioux City.

On July 11, 1942, Barb was united in marriage to Robert Davin in South Sioux City, Nebraska. Shortly after their marriage, Robert was sent overseas to serve in the Army during World War II. Barb went to California to be with her family and while there worked at the Douglas Aircraft Company with other Army wives to support the war effort. When Robert returned in 1945, the couple made their home in Sioux City, Iowa until retiring.

Barb worked as a secretary in an elementary school for 17 years and in the interior decorating department of Younkers for several years. She enjoyed showing dogs, flowers, gardening and reading. One of Barb's favorite activities was golfing. She and Robert golfed for many years together and Barb also enjoyed many Lady's Day golf outings.

Barb was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where she was involved in Midi's and church circles. She was active in the Tri-T program for sponsoring Girl Scouts and a member of Women's Club and Book Club. Barb loved spending time with her family whenever possible, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Living family members include three daughters: Cindy (Ron) Gergen of Charles City, Denise (Mark) Kuhn of Charles City and Becky Davin of Sacramento, California; five grandchildren: Christopher (Teresa) Gergen, Matthew (Connie) Gergen, Jennifer (Justyn) Ferris, Mason (Lori) Kuhn and Tyler Davin-moore; ten great-grandchildren; and brother, Keith "Hap" Hazard of Canoga Park, California.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Davin on January 3, 2015; grandson, Alex Kuhn on July 15, 2016; and her sister, Patricia Hazard.
