Hurvey Tudor, 80, of Charles City, passed away Friday, December 9, 2016 at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa in Mason City.

A funeral service for Hurvey Tudor will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at The Bridge Church (First Wesleyan Church) in Charles City with Pastor Robert Williams officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date at Sunnyside Memory Gardens in rural Charles City.

Visitation will be at Hauser Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, December 12, 2016 and will continue one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Tuesday.

Hurvey Elmer Tudor, the son of Loren and Gladys (Smith) Tudor, was born November 21, 1936 in Rowan, Iowa. He grew up in the Rowan area, but he and his family moved to the Colwell, Iowa area while Hurvey was still in school. Hurvey graduated from Colwell High School in 1955 and began farming with his father and his close Uncle Elmer.

On November 10, 1956, Hurvey was united in marriage to Virginia Chambers at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. The couple made their home on the family farm and they were blessed with three children: Jean, Joe and Rod. Hurvey loved farming, horses, bees, guns, apple trees, collecting coins, taking part in local Farmer's Markets, flowers, Allis-Chalmers tractors, gardening and spending time at his pond. He was very family orientated and enjoyed spending time with his family whenever possible.

Hurvey was a member of The Bridge Church (First Wesleyan Church), Farm Bureau and the Charles City Saddle Club. He will be deeply missed by all those who loved him.

Living family members include his wife of 60 years, Virginia; three children: Jean (Kevin) McCloud of Charles City, Joe (Jeanine) Tudor of Charles City and Rod (Annjannette) Tudor of Colwell; seven grandchildren: Nikki (Kory) McIntire, Brian (Carley) Hollister, Lacey Tudor (Nate Myhre), Eric (Samantha) Tudor, Samantha Quade, Aaron Tudor and Katey (Josh) Brase; 12 great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Loren and Gladys (Smith) Tudor and brother, Ernie Tudor.
