Gathering of family and friends at 1:30 to the start of services on Saturday at the Kingdom Hall

Rodney Joslin Jr., 72, of Charles City, died Monday, November 28, 2016, at Mercy Medical Center of North Iowa in Mason City.

Funeral services for Rodney will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 3, 2016, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Charles City. Family will hold burial at a later date.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 1:30 p.m. to the start of the service at the Hall on Saturday.

Rodney George Joslin Jr. was born on January 24, 1944 in Tularosa, New Mexico to Rodney Sr. and Jennie (Shepard) Joslin. He graduated from Cambria-Corydon Community High School in 1962. On September 12, 1964, Rodney was united in marriage to Lillian Janet "Jan" Jones at the Faith Bible Chapel in Charles City. He worked most of his life in various positions as a Heating and Air Conditioning Specialist. During his time in Clinton, Iowa he also worked as a maintenance man at a travel lodge.

Rodney was a Jehovah's Witness and greatly enjoyed time spent in fellowship at the Kingdom Hall. He was a friend to all the children in the church and always jumped at a chance to spend time with his niece and nephews. A child at heart, Rodney loved putting together model cars, collecting coins and stamps, and would happily spend hours in any hobby shop. He was also interested in photography. His family will always remember watching science fiction and horror films with him on his vintage projector.

Rodney is survived by his brothers: Mark Boggess of Mason City and Ray Shannon of Cedar Rapids; sister-in-law: Sherry Joslin of Charles City; niece and nephews: Jason, Jesse, James "Jimmy" and Heather; and many other great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and godparents; wife: Lillian in 2012; brother: James Joslin; and nephews: Rueben James Joslin, and Raymond Shannon Jr.
