CHARLES CITY, IOWA — Donna L. Mullen, 76, of Charles City, died Thursday, Oct. 27, 2016, at the 9th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City.

A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1, at Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City with Pastor Janet Dorenkamp, Hospice of North Iowa Chaplain, officiating.

Family and friends will gather one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Tuesday, Nov. 1.

Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City is in charge of local arrangements.

Donna L. Mullen, 76, of Charles City, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2016 at the 9th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City.

A memorial service for Donna will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City with Pastor Janet Dorenkamp-Hospice of North Iowa Chaplain officiating. Family and friends will gather one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 1, 2016.

Donna Lee Mullen, the daughter of Andrew and Ruby (Studer) Mullen, was born October 31, 1939 at home on her grandmother's kitchen table. She was raised in the Rockford area and attended school in the old brick schoolhouse near Rockford and Rockford Senior High. Donna was united in marriage to Jerry Stufflebeam on November 9, 1957. This union was blessed with four children: Janet, Becky, Julie and Jason. The couple later divorced in 2001.

Donna worked various jobs throughout the years including: waitress at Turner's Café, Ray's Pizza Kitchen, sewing at Modo Day in Mason City and as a Nurse's Aide at Good Shepherd Americana Nursing Home in Mason City and the Nora Springs Care Center. Her most important job, and closest to her heart, was staying at home for a number of years to raise her family. Donna's children and grandchildren were very special to her.

Donna enjoyed sewing, reading cookbooks, canning, cooking (she made the best Christmas candy), attending auctions, crocheting and in recent years watching television. She was a woman who wasn't afraid to give her opinion on multiple subjects and who was loved very much by her family.

Living family members include her significant other, Randy Weiland of Charles City; four children: Janet (Bruce) Cassmann of Greene, Becky Brierly (Joe Kramer) of Marble Rock, Julie Navratil of Rockford and Jason (Heidi) Stufflebeam of Nevada; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four brothers: Richard (Mary Jo) Mullen of St. Louis Park, Minnesota, Dennis (Marilyn) Mullen of Rockford, Larry (Lorraine) Mullen of Charles City and Russell (Peg) Mullen of Charles City; along with numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Jerry Lee, Jr.; infant daughter, Toni Lee; and sister, Dixie Ellefson.
