Obituary for Douglas Ray Pride

Douglas Pride, age 51, of Elma, Iowa, passed away on Monday, May 30, 2016, surrounded by his loving family in his home.

Douglas Ray Pride was born on March 15, 1965 to Billy and Laura (Franzen) Pride in Waverly, IA. Doug attended school in Charles City, IA and graduated in 1983. He worked at Sara Lee in New Hampton, IA for 17 years. Later he was employed at Winnebago in Charles City for several years before becoming employed by GMT Manufacturing in Waverly where he had worked to the present time. Doug was united in marriage to Robin Chambers on November 22, 1983 in New Hampton. The couple made their home in Cowell, Iowa, until 1991 when they moved to Elma and have lived ever since. Doug enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on cars, NASCAR, Minnesota Vikings and spending time with his family and friends.

Doug is survived by his parents Billy and Laura Pride of Charles City, IA; his wife of 32 years, Robin of Elma; children Matthias Pride of Osage, IA, Eric Pride of Alta Vista, IA, and Abigail Pride (Tramane Wilson) of Mason City, IA; granddaughter Zoe Wilson of Mason City, IA; sister Pam (Dick) Falde of Montrose, MN; father and mother-in-law Robert and Lynda Chambers of Elma; brother-in-law Bud Chambers of Greene, IA; sisters-in-law Ranae (Bob) Hejna of Floyd, IA and Roxanne Meek of Charles City; and several nieces and nephews.
