Lucille Elizabeth (Burckart) Bollman, the daughter of Lewis Adam and Ina Mae (Sawvell) Burckart, was born June 26, 1914, in McGregor, Iowa. She received her education in Northeast Iowa. Lucille met Clyde Bollman at a dance party in Hickory Creek, and they dated for about three years before being united in marriage on June 26, 1935, in Postville, Iowa. The couple made their home in Northeast Iowa prior to moving to Strawberry Point in 1951 where they resided for 50 years.

Lucille took great pride in her home and family which were her top priority. She was also a cook at the Strawberry Point School for several years and an active member of the Friendly Neighbors Club. In 2002, Lucille and Clyde moved to Charles City.

Lucille was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She enjoyed knitting (especially afghans for her family), cooking, shopping, wearing nice clothes, going out to eat and visiting with family and friends. Lucille and Clyde loved nature, going on walks, and on Sunday afternoons they would go for drives, often attending area dances. She took pleasure in spending time with her family, and tried to be involved with as many family activities as possible. In recent years (after she lost her sight) she tied fleece blankets, listened to soft music and audio books.

Living family members include her two daughters: Sharon (Jim) Kamoss of Charles City and Sandra (Roger) Burr of Strawberry Point; three grandchildren: Kelly (Scott) Sweet of Charles City, Stacey (Derek) Wetterstrom of Maple Grove, Minnesota and Dru (Jill) Burr of Waterloo; seven great-grandchildren: Zachary, Hayley, Elizabeth, Cole, Ty, Madison and Mason; one great-great-grandson, Kai; along with several nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clyde on February 23, 2003; infant son, Clyde Bollman, Jr.; and five brothers and sisters.
