CHARLES CITY, IOWA - Mary Johnson, 67, of Charles City, passed away peacefully Monday, December 28, 2015, at her home in Charles City surrounded by her loving family. Her wishes were to be cremated.

A Celebration of Life for Mary Johnson will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2016, from 1 to 5 p.m. at New Life Community Church, 1960 Gilbert Street (Old Hwy 18 West), in Charles City.

Mary LaRena (Cummings) Johnson was born in Waterloo, Iowa on June 27, 1948, to Ralph and Mary Gavetta (Roberts) Cummings. She graduated from Osage Schools. After high school she attended Hamilton Business College in Mason City and graduated in accounting. She then worked in the accounting departments at Builders Supply, St. Clair-Starks Clothing in Mason City, The Rouse Company in Baltimore, Maryland, Roberts Clothes of Charm in Charles City, Sara Lee in New Hampton, was the office manager for Drs. Pelz & Schmiedel, and co-owner of Johnson Accounting Service from 1982 until her death.

Mary is survived by her husband Ken, son Justin, brother Bob (Judy) Cummings, sister Kathy Nicholson, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
