MASON CITY, IOWA — Robert Krause, 83, of Mason City, passed away Monday, May 2, 2016, at home.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday May, 7, 2016, at Epiphany Parish-Holy Family Catholic Church, 714 N. Adams Ave., Mason City, with the Rev. John Gossman officiating. A luncheon will be served at Holy Family Catholic Church following the Mass. Family will greet friends and family one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Nora Springs Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, May 6, 2016, at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E., Mason City. A scriptural wake will be held at 5:30 p.m., followed by military honors conducted by the Mason City Veterans.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Phyllis Krause, where the family will choose an organization together.

Bob was born February 28, 1933, in Mason City, son of Elmer and Jeanette (Olson) Krause. Bob graduated from Mason City High School and attended Junior College in Mason City. His college was interrupted with being drafted into the Army for the Korean War where he was stationed in Korea for sixteen months out of the twenty-four months of service.

Bob farmed for many years, and following retirement began delivering flowers for Cashwise and HyVee for twenty-seven years. He was a member of the American Legion, and VFW. Bob loved all kinds of animals and had a kind and generous heart. He was an avid sports fan, especially the Iowa Hawkeye, Twins sports, or any games. He enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his family and friends.

Bob is survived by his wife, Phyllis Krause, of Mason City; three children, Mary Jane Krause, of Mankato,Minnesota; John (Kelly) Krause, of Nora Springs; Nancy Krause, Indianola; two grandsons, Chad (Jen McKinley) and Logan Peterson, of Mankato, Minnesota; great-granddaughter, Sheyanne Peterson; great-grandson, Shaune Peterson; brother, Jack (Beverly) Krause, of Nora Springs; and many nieces and nephews.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Bill (Mary) Krause.
