Joan Jones

Joan Jones, 51, of West End, N.C., passed away Feb. 5, 2016, in Newnan, Ga.

Born June 13, 1964, in Charles City, to Dale and Shirley Schroeder.

Joan was a very loving, fun and loyal person who was always there when someone needed a helping hand, a shoulder to cry on, or just a friend to talk to. She enjoyed her time hanging out with friends and family, going to country music concerts, playing with her dog Bradley, and making friends in her travels with anyone she ran into. She was a loving person, a caring mother and a great person to be around. She was a very proud grandma and she never met a stranger from the person next to her on a plane to the front desk agent at a hotel room.

She is survived by her husband, Mark Jones; children Jason Jones (Kristina) and Ashley Jones (Chasity); granddaughter Jenna Jones; brother Ron Schroeder (Marcy); and niece Donya Schroeder.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 10, from 1-2 p.m. at Boles Funeral Home, Southern Pines, N.C. A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m.

Memorial donations may be made in Joan’s name to the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation, P.O. Box 1848. Longmont, CO 80502.
