Obituary for Beth Ermine Parcher

Beth “Betty” Ermine Parcher, 94, of Nora Springs, Iowa, and formerly of Rockford, Iowa, died Monday, November 23, 2015 at the Nora Springs Care Center.

A Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 26, 2015 at Fullerton Funeral Home, 302 West Main, Rockford. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm with a one hour prior visitation on Friday, November 27, 2015 at the Funeral Home with Reverend Glen Bandel officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Rockford.

Beth was born on December 12, 1920 in Newton, Iowa, to Avery and Ostie Emery. She attended school through the 9th grade. Beth grew up the youngest of five children. In 1937 she was united in marriage to Donald Parcher, who predeceased her. To their union, eight children were born. Beth has lived in the Nora Springs/Rockford area for the majority of her life. She was very involved with her church, the Nora Springs Christian Church. Beth participated in the Royal Neighbors Women’s Group and Women’s Church Circles. She worked for a period of time as a computer inspector for Unisys in Clear Lake, but also was a mother and homemaker.

Beth loved cooking. She was known for her chicken and noodles. She also was an excellent baker and her family enjoyed her orange rolls and apple pies. As a mother and grandmother she always cooked her family’s favorites. She had a vegetable garden and had hundreds of quarts of vegetables from canning. Beth enjoyed singing throughout her life. She was also a quilter and played card games such as Canasta and “500.” Throughout her life she had a close relationship with her older sister Francis and they loved taking trips together. Beth had many friends whom she would drive to their appointments. Above all, Beth’s family was her priority in life. She was a proud mother and grandmother. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

In expression of sympathy, memorials may be sent in Beth’s name to Nora Springs Care Center or Hospice of North Iowa.

Those left to cherish her memory include children: Larry (Jeanie) Parcher of Rockford, Ronald Parcher of Rockford and Janet (Lyle) Winter of Letts, IA; grandchildren: Mike (Tina) O’Rourke and Michelle (Mark) DeBettignies and their children Brody, Joshua and Noah; Nick (Stacie) Parcher and their children Abbigail and Julia; Julie Parcher; Laurie Parcher and her children William and Malinda; Bradley (Amy) Parcher; Brett Parcher; Blake Parcher; Shilo Winter and her children Skye, Jorie, and Jana; Justin Winter and his children Drake and Whitney; Brandon (Jody) Sheriff and their children Genna, Gavin, and Graci; and Amanda (Travis) Hobbiebrunken and their children Alec and Aisley.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Avery and Ostie Emery; children: Michael Parcher, Linda O’Rourke, Steven Parcher, Nicholas Parcher, and Bonnie Caspers; son-in-laws, Jack Caspers and Jim O’Rourke; granddaughters, Amy O’Rourke and Sarah Jo Parcher; two brothers and two sisters.
