Julia Rebekka Simenson was born May 16, 1879 at rural Rudd, Floyd, Iowa. to Erick Simenson and Karine Johnson, the third of their four children. Julia was baptized on July 20, 1879 at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church at Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa. Her baptismal sponsors were: Mathea Tollefson; Martin Johnson; Randi Simonsen and Sarah Tollefsen.

Julia married Charles E. Witter on June 28, 1912 at Mason City, Cerro Gordo, Iowa. The couple had 1 daughter, May Harriet Witter. Charles had been married before and had a daughter from his first marriage.

1905: Julia Simenson age 25.

Julia later moved to Cedar Rapids, Linn, Iowa.

Julia Witter died November 16, 1958 at Cedar Rapids, Linn, Iowa and was buried at Rudd Evergreen Cemetery, Rudd, Floyd, Iowa.

Cedar Rapids Gazette Obit, November 17, 1958:
Julia R Witter 79, widow of Charles Witter, a Cedar Rapids resident for 5 years, died in a nursing home on Sunday following a long illness. She was born in Rudd, Iowa on May 16, 1879.
Surviving is a daughter, Mrs Samuel Allen of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Services will be conducted at 1:30 Tuesday with burial in the Rudd Evergreen Cemetery.
