Obituary--

Lafayette Knowlton was born in Woodstock, Vermont, June 28, 1825 and died at the home of his son, Charles, in Floyd Friday, April 9, 1915, aged 89 years, 9 months and 11 days. Deceased was married at Platteville, Wisconsin, in 1848 to Laura Allen. To this union four children were born: Ella M. Carmen, Rudd; Charles L. Knowlton, Floyd; Chester M. Knowlton, Floyd; Lulu L. Delong, deceased.

Mr. Knowlton was a continuous resident of Floyd county for sixty years, his wife preceding him in death, January 1, 1911. He was a member of the M.E. Church in Floyd for many years. He leaves to mourn his death three children, Charles L., Chester M. and Ella Carmen and one sister, Mrs. Parmelia Bennett of Los Angeles, California, seven grand children and nine great grandchildren.
