NORA SPRINGS, IOWA - Roberta “Bobbi” Faye Bailey, 71, of Nora Springs, Iowa, died Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2015, at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa, Mason City, Iowa.
Celebration of her life will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, 2015, at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, Mason City, with Chaplain Wendy Johannesen officiating. Burial will be at a later time in the Hettinger Cemetery, Hettinger, North Dakota. Family will greet friends one hour before the service.
Family suggests memorials to Roberta F. Bailey Memorial Fund in care of Mark Bailey, 310 Third St. N.E., Nora Springs, IA 50458.
Roberta was born November 9, 1943, in Dickinson, North Dakota, the daughter of Amos E. and Gladys (Marheine) Purington.
She graduated from Hettinger High School in 1961 and then graduated from cosmetology school. She worked in the Hettinger area.
She married Arvid Engraf in 1966 and they continued to live in the Hettinger area. They moved to Forbes, North Dakota, in 1980 and later moved to Ellendale, North Dakota, where she managed a motel.
She later moved to Mason City, Iowa, and managed the Super 8 motel.
When her granddaughter, Amber, was born, she moved back to Aberdeen, where she work at Riddles Jewelry. In 2007 she moved back to Mason City and worked at Riddles Jewelry.
She married Norman Bailey Nov. 1, 2008, in Aberdeen, South Dakota.
She enjoyed her pets, the outdoors, camping, cooking, canning, playing cards and visiting with her friends.
She is survived by her husband Norman Bailey, Nora Springs, Iowa; son David (Robin) Engraf, Aberdeen, South Dakota; two step-children Mark (Leanne) Bailey, Nora Springs, Iowa and Dennis (Lori) Bailey, Rock Falls, Iowa; granddaughter Amber Engraf, Aberdeen, South Dakota; four step-grandchildren Maggie (John) Lawson, Manly, Iowa, Andrew (Staci) Bailey, Parkersburg, Iowa, Benjamin Bailey, Grafton, Iowa and Steven (Rochelle) Bailey, Nora Springs, Iowa; six step great-grandchildren and a sister Pauline Olson, Hettinger, North Dakota.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Arvid; brother, Pete Purington; her sister, Caroline Zimmerman and two brothers-in-law, Harold Olson and Arthur Zimmerman.
