Obituary--

Marlys Ann (Arndt) Kramm, 75, of Mason City, Iowa, and formerly of Nora Springs, Iowa, died Sunday, September 13, 2015, at the Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa in Mason City. According to her wishes, cremation has been accorded.

A memorial service for Marlys will be held at Saturday, September 19, 2015, at the Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd Street NE, Mason City, with Reverend Nathan Gann officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time on Saturday at the chapel.

Through her death, Marlys gave the gift of sight to someone through eye donation.

Marlys Ann (Arndt) Kramm was born on September 16, 1939, in Mason City, the daughter of Theodore Arndt, Sr. and Margaret (Nelson) Arndt. Marlys attended school in the Portland Community School, graduating from Nora Springs High School.

She was united in marriage to Richard Severe and to this marriage three children were born, Richard "Tony", Terry, and Tammy. After her marriage Marlys was a stay-at-home wife and mother. She was united in marriage to Gerald Kramm and to this marriage three children were born, Kim, Kelly, and Kristopher. After her marriage to Gerald, Marlys cleaned homes and agencies for several families and businesses in the North Iowa area for many years.

Marlys enjoyed collecting bears, anything Coca-Cola, Americana, enjoyed putting puzzles together, and visiting with her many friends and family. Marlys always had a smile and kind word for everyone she met. Marlys was a Lutheran by faith.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Terry Severe of Mason City, Tammy Severe of Bloomington, Minnesota, Kim (Brian) McDonough of Nora Springs, Kelly (John) Krause of Nora Springs, and Kris (Julie) Kramm of Nora Springs; daughter-in-law, Laurie Severe of Nora Springs; seven grandchildren: Justin Severe, Chelsy (Mark) Schultz, Alex Kramm, Marcus McDonough, Mattheu McDonough, Samantha Kramm, and Katelyn McDonough; two great-grandchildren, Ayla and Eli Schultz; two sisters, Phyllis Kelley of Nora Springs, and Peggy (Jerry) Majewski of Rock Falls; a brother, Bruce Arndt of Nora Springs; sister-in-law, Beverly Arndt of Mason City; many nieces, nephews, as well as many other extended family members and friends.

Marlys was preceded in death by her parents; son, Tony Severe; granddaughter, Jennifer Severe; three brothers, Theodore Jr., Morrie and Harold Arndt, and a sister, Kathy Arndt.
