Marianne Walker, 81, of Charles City, and formerly of Waterloo, passed away Saturday, September 5, 2015 at the Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City, Iowa.

A funeral service for Marianne Walker will be held 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at Bethany Alliance Church in Charles City. Pastor Coulter Page will officiate. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Charles City.

Visitation will be at Bethany Alliance Church from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 prior to the funeral service.

Marianne Brigitte Berta (Cavet) Walker, the daughter of Charles and Berta Cavet, was born July 4, 1934, in Berlin, Germany. She was raised and educated in Berlin. Marianne met her future husband, Darwin Walker, while he was stationed in Germany. On June 15, 1953, they were united in marriage in Berlin, Germany. Darwin's pet name for Marianne was Janna, and almost everything he purchased during their life together was for his Janna. Marianne worked as a Nurse's Aide for many years and at Sears in shipping and receiving for 20 years.

Marianne enjoyed knitting, crocheting, cross-stitching, all crafts in general and camping. She was an avid collector of many things, particularly Beanie Babies. Marianne loved to cook and clean, especially if it was for her loving family.

Living family members include her four children: Randall (Tracy) Walker of Aiken, South Carolina, Kim (Mike) Wendel of Charles City, John (Nadine) Walker of Des Moines and Evelyne (Clark) Jennings of Cedar Falls; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; her beloved niece, Annemarie Lademann of Hungary; along with other nieces, nephews, family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Darwin Walker on June 29, 2012; and two brothers: Erwin Cavet and Alfred Cavet.
