Arnold Bahe, 82, of Charles City, passed away Monday, August 3, 2015 at the 11th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City.

A memorial service for Arnold Bahe will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 8, 2015 at Saint John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Charles City. Mr. Erik Hoefer will officiate. Private family burial will take place at Campton Cemetery in Lamont, Iowa.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Hauser Funeral Home from 5-7:00 p.m. Friday, August 7, 2015 and will continue one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.

Arnold F. Bahe was born August 27, 1932 in Fayette County, Iowa, the son of Walter and Erna (Sabin) Bahe. He served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955. On September 27, 1957 he was united in marriage to Betty Cook in Lamont, Iowa. Arnold farmed for many years throughout the state and later worked as a machinist at Viking Pump in Cedar Falls for 20 years, retiring in 1997. In 2000 they moved to Charles City, Iowa.

Arnold enjoyed camping, traveling, and wintering in New Mexico. He also enjoyed board games, reading, crossword puzzles, and meeting new people wherever he went. Arnold's hobby was collecting anything John Deere, from toys to antique tractors. He was a member of the American Legion Post 174 and Saint John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Charles City.

Arnold is survived by his three sons: Craig (Sandy) Bahe of Elburn, Illinois, Dave Bahe and significant other, Denise Bledsoe of Charles City, and Evan (Valerie) Bahe of Snohomish, Washington; six grandchildren: Adam Bahe, Jeremy (Becky Boerschel) Bahe, Elizabeth (Tim) Foust, Michael (Mandi) Bahe, Gretchen Bahe, and Hannah Bahe; nine great grandchildren, Carson, Kaine, Kinleigh, Kielyn, Alanie, Alonna, Timothy, Ariahna, and Devin; a sister, Donna Boleyn of Elgin; two sisters-in-law, Barb (Max) Wolfgram of Manchester, and Marlys Bahe of Sumner; a brother-in-law, Don (Kim) Cook of Lamont; and several nephews and a niece.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty of 54 years; a brother Duane; and a daughter-in-law, Karen Bahe.
