NORA SPRINGS, IOWA - Beverly Dawn Fingalsen, 73, of Mason City, Iowa, and formerly of Nora Springs, died Sunday, August 9, 2015, at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa, Mason City.

Obituary for Beverly Dawn Fingalsen

Beverly Dawn Fingalsen, 73, Mason City, formerly of Nora Springs, died Sunday, August 9, 2015, at the Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa in Mason City.
A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, August 14, 2015, at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 110 North Hawkeye, Nora Springs, with Reverend David Werges officiating. Inurnment will be in the Park Cemetery in Nora Springs.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Thursday at the Sheckler Colonial Chapel, 114 North Hawkeye, Nora Springs. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church.

Those wishing to give a memorial in her memory may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Parkinson’s Foundation or to St. Luke Lutheran Church.

Beverly “Bev” Dawn Fingalsen was born on June 22, 1942, in Mason City, the daughter of Lynn and Joyce (Reser) Tourtellott. She attended schools in Nora Springs, Rock Falls, and Plymouth. Bev worked as the food service manager at the Nora Springs Schools for 19 years, drove school bus from 1973 until 1991, worked at Casey’s General Store in Nora Springs from 1986 until 1993, and for Casey’s General Store Corporate office in Des Moines from 1995 until her retirement in 2001. Bev also owned Huff’s Drive Inn Restaurant in Nora Springs and had her own upholstering business.

Bev enjoyed quilting, sewing, golfing, playing pool, cards, and wintering in Mesa, Arizona with her mother, Joyce, but her great love and enjoyment was her family, and spending time with her grandchildren and attending their school activities.

Bev was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Nora Springs, Little League softball coach for two years, Cub Scout leader for eight years, and 4-H Leader for two years.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Dan (Monica) Robeson of Maxwell, Dawn (Steve) Havey of Clear Lake, Jon (Jolene) Comentino of Nora Springs, Bruce Fingalsen of Manly, and Bryan Fingalsen of Mason City; 16 grandchildren, Brooke, Shaun, Bria, Wade, Paige, Parker, Payton, Melea, Kegen, Justus, Kessa, Micale, Laelle, Will, James, and Andrew; six great- grandchildren; her brother, Jerry (LoraLea) Tourtellott of Osage; two sisters, Cheryl Johnson of Sun City, Arizona, and Penny (Max) Beckner of Ankeny; sister-in-law, Doris Tourtellott of Streamwood, Illinois; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other extended family members and friends.

Bev was preceded in death by her parents, Lynn and Joyce Tourtellott; grandson, Barak; brother, Gordon Tourtellott; brother-in-law, Erling Johnson; and a daughter-in-law, Joni Robeson.
