Volney Osborne Nash – June 8, 1887 – September 23, 1945

YEAR’S ILLNESS FATAL TO VOLNEY NASH OF MARBLE ROCK SUNDAY
FUNERAL SERVICE HELD AT BAPTIST CHURCH TODAY. FATHER OF EIGHT CHILDREN. THREE SONS IN SERVICE.

Volney O. Nash, 58, well-known Marble Rock man, died at his home west of Marble Rock, Sunday evening about 8:30 o’clock, following an illness of more than a year.

Funeral services for Mr. Nash are being held this afternoon, at the home at 1:30 o’clock and at the Baptist Church at 2:30 o’clock, under the direction of the Rev. George Foster, pastor.

The Marble Rock man was born in Rockford on June 9, 1887, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Nash, and had been a resident of Floyd County the greater part of his life.

He was married to Gladys Kinney, who survives him. The children include Merle Nash, who is in the army, stationed with the military police, in Chicago, Illinois; Donald Nash and Robert Nash, who are both at home, recently given honorable discharges from the army; Liela Nash, a teacher at Postville; Bernice Nash, a teacher at Iowa Falls, and LaVera Nash, a teacher at Geneva; LaVonne Nash, attending college at Cedar Falls, and rs. Cleland Maxson.

Mr. Nash is also survived by two sisters, Marian Nash and Mabel Nash, both living in California.
