Immaculate Conception Catholic ChurchJoan Jung, 75, of Charles City died July 16, 2015 at Saint Mary's Campus in Rochester, Minnesota.
A funeral Mass will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 25, 2015 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Charles City. Reverend Gary Mayer will celebrate the Mass. Cremation will take place following the Mass.
Visitation will be held at Hauser Funeral Home from 5 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, July 24, 2015 with a Rosary prayed at 5:00 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the Mass on Saturday at the church.
Joan Rae (Venz) Jung, the daughter of Raymond and Lola (Clark) Venz, born on November 8, 1939 in Charles City, Iowa. She graduated from Charles City High School. Joan and Gerald were united in marriage in September of 1957. She did secretarial work for the Floyd County Assessor's office and Dr. Royer's office. Joan then managed condominiums with her husband in Edina, Minnesota. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and Saint Jude's Circle. Joan loved to travel with her husband to their lake house in Minnesota. Every year they would take the family in a camper to go fishing and spend their summer vacations in Longville, Minnesota. Joan loved to bird watch and collect everything she could of cardinals. She was a very social person who enjoyed visiting with others especially her family.
Living family members include her husband of 57 years, Gerald; three children: Jim (Laurie) Jung of Mankato, Minnesota, Julie Jung of Charles City, and Janean (Tom) Hajek of Cedar Rapids; three grandchildren: Joey, Chris, and Kelly Hajek; two sisters: Jeanne (Roger) Moser of Charles City, and Dixie (Mike) Beaupain of Iowa Falls.
She was preceded in death by her parents; mother and father-in-law, Kenneth and Zita Jung.
