Alfred Christopher Pangburn – October 12, 1873 – May 1, 1950
RETIRED FARMER DIES AT CHARLES CITY HOME
Charles City – Funeral services were incomplete late Monday for Alfred C. Pangburn, 76, who died at his home, 200 North Grand Avenue Monday morning. Death was attributed to a cerebral hemorrhage. He had been in ill health since he was injured in an accident July 20, 1947, which took the life of his daughter, Mrs. Bernice Staebler.
Born at Kensett, October 12, 1873, he was the son of Henry and Hannah Todd Pangburn. On August 15, 1900, he was married to the former Frances Shea.
Before coming to Charles City in 1916, he farmed near Kensett. He was employed by the Oliver Corporation for about 15 years. He was a member of the Holy Name Society and the Modern Woodman.
Survivors include his widow, a daughter, Mrs. Genevieve Kellum, Charles City, and a son, Carlisle H. Pangburn, Tokyo, Japan. Two brothers, Will Pangburn, Kensett and Charlie Pangburn, Northwood, also survive.
In addition to Mrs. Staebler, 2 brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
