Loretta Ann (Crumb) Riehm – Born March 1859 in Indiana, Died December 15, 1929 in Mason City.

Note*** in the obit below, spelled just like it was written her name is Mrs. Godfrey Rhiems,, the last name was misspelled.

FORMER MARBLE ROCK RESIDENT PASSES AWAY
Mrs. Godfrey Rhiems, at one time a resident of this vicinity, but later of Garner, died at a mason City hospital, Sunday afternoon, aged 70 years. Mr. Rhiems passed away a year ago and Mrs. Rhiems was living alone in her home at Garner.

About a week ago she had a bad fall, sustaining a broken arm and other injuries. She was taken to the hospital at Mason City, where medical skill was unable to save her life, death being caused by emboli.

Mrs. Rhiems was formerly Miss Anna Crumb, daughter of the late William and Hannah Crumb, of Marble Rock. Before going to Garner they had charge of the farm in Scott Township now owned by Matt Staudt.

Funeral services will be held at Garner today (Wednesday) and interment will be in the Garner Cemetry. Mrs. Rhiems was loved by all who knew her. Hers was a kind and sympathetic nature.

Note** Her mothers’ maiden name was Claypool. Her parents are buried in the West Side Cemetery, Marble Rock, Floyd County, Iowa.

Loretta was buried in Madison Township Cemetery, Forest City, Hancock County, Iowa, along with her husband Christian Godfrey Riehm.
