Nellie Ann (Ackley) Arhart – May 24, 1874 – January 14, 1962

RITES TODAY FOR MRS. NELLIE ARHART

Mrs. Nellie Arhart, 88, died at the Harris Nursing Home on Sunday. She was born at Downs, Kansas, on May 24, 1874, the daughter of S. Judson and Sarah Jane Asper Ackley.

The family moved to Marble Rock, where she has lived for the past 81 years. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Arhart Jr. in 1930, also two sons, Wayne and Elston and two granddaughters.

Surviving are ten grandchildren, Charles Arhart, stationed at Norfolk, Virginia, Mrs. Claire Henderson of La Puente, California, Robert D. Arhart and Mrs. John Seery of Waterloo, Claire L. Arhart of Charles City, Mrs. Willis Johnson, Mrs. William Shores, Mrs. Leo Mayer, Mrs. James Keough and Donald D. Arhart, all of Mason City; and several great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are being held this afternoon, Wednesday, January 17, at 2:00 o’clock in the Reid-Hamilton Funeral Chapel in Marble rock, with the Rev. Sheral Gregory officiating. Burial will be in the Westside Cemetery.
