CHARLES CITY, IOWA - Amy (Boley) Heiter, 25, of Cedar Falls, formerly Charles City, died Wednesday, April 29, 2015, at Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City.

A funeral Mass will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 4, 2015, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Charles City. The Rev. Gary Mayer will celebrate the Mass. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Charles City.

Friends may call at Hauser Funeral Home from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 3, 2015, and one hour prior to the Mass at the church on Monday.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to "Amy's Special Account" at First Citizens National Bank in Charles City to help with funeral expenses.

The Hauser Funeral Home, 641-228-2323, in Charles City, is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.hauserfh.com.

Amy (Boley) Heiter, 25, of Cedar Falls, formerly Charles City, died Wednesday, April 29, 2015, at the Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City.

A funeral Mass for Amy Heiter will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 4, 2015, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Charles City. Reverend Gary Mayer will celebrate the Mass. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Charles City.

Friends may call at Hauser Funeral Home from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 3, 2015, and one hour prior to the Mass at the church on Monday.

Amy Elizabeth (Boley) Heiter, the daughter of Clifford and Jean (Hoeft) Boley, was born December 18, 1989, in Mason City. She received her education in Charles City, graduating from Charles City High School in 2008. Amy was very active on the varsity basketball team during high school and continued her basketball career at NIACC in Mason City; she was an outstanding three-point shooter.

She then attended the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls where she double majored in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Special Education and served as Secretary for the Student Early Childhood Association. Amy was recently awarded her teaching certificate at Washington Elementary in Charles City where she completed her student teaching. She received her certificate from Duane Magee, executive director of the State Board of Educational Examiners

Amy was united in marriage to Jeffrey Heiter on June 8, 2013, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Charles City and the couple made their home in Cedar Falls. She was diagnosed with synovial sarcoma in October 2013. Amy never quit during her year and a half battle against cancer. Her strength and positive attitude will continue to inspire others, she will be greatly missed.

Amy was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Charles City and Sarcoma Alliance.

Living family members include her husband, Jeffrey Heiter of Cedar Falls; parents, Cliff and Jean Boley of Charles City; siblings: Coleman Boley (fiancée Brooke Rohn), Crystal Boley, Matthew (Candice) Boley and their daughter, Alexandria, and Adam (Erin) Boley and their children, Abigayle and Jeremiah; paternal grandmother, Ruth Boley of Brookfield, Missouri; father and mother-in-law, Michael and Nancy Heiter of Charles City; sister-in-law, Bethany Heiter; "adopted" sister-in-law, Mavis (Jason) Lau and their children, Harrison and Hayley; along with several aunts, uncles, other family members and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Margaret and LaVerne Hoeft and her paternal grandfather, Charles Boley.
