Jean Emma (Scott) Lemen, --1860 - June 17, 1937

MRS. J. S. LEMEN DEAD; WILL HOLD FUNERAL IN IOWA

Funeral services for Mrs. Jean Scott Lemen, widow of the late Rev. W. M. Lemen, who died yesterday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Arlo Grantz, 3914 Michigan Avenue, Indiana Harbor, will be held tomorrow in Dubuque, Iowa.

Mrs. Lemen, who died after a two month’ illness, was 76 years old. Before her marriage, she was superintendent of the Methodist Episcopal deaconess work in Canada.

Since the death of her husband she lived at the Aagard Home for Methodist Deaconesses at Lake Bluff, until she became ill and came to live with her daughter in Indiana Harbor.

Besides Mrs. Grantz, she is survived by three other daughters, Mrs. Webb Fowler of Cleveland, Mrs. Lawson Wood of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Mrs. M. M. Christopher of Scranton, North Dakota; and three sons, Paul of New Jersey, Evart of Waterloo, Iowa, and Grant of Dubuque, Iowa.

Jean Emma Scott was born 1860 in Baltimore, Maryland, the daughter of William G Scott and Mary Toomey.

She was the 3rd wife of Rev. William Minor Lemen.
The children mentioned in her obit were all the children of his 2nd wife. (from the looks of the census records)
