Anna Paulson was born January 6, 1888 at rural Floyd County, Iowa to Gjert Knutsen Paulson and Randi Anna Pedersdatter Framstad, the second of their three children.

Found in the 1895 & 1900 censuses living with her parents on a farm in Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa:
1895: Anna age 7

1900: George Paulson 49, Anne Paulson 32, Knud Paulson 13, Anne Paulson 12, Tommas Paulson 6, Gustav Paulson 5, Borde C Paulson 4, Alma G Paulson 3, Andre Pederson 30.

Anna married David Gates in Iowa.

The couple had 4 children:
Glen David (1912 - 1971);

Norman Wallace (1914 - 1981);

Doris Violet (1920 - 2000) and

Raymond (b 1926).

In 1918, the family moved north to Canada.

Found in the 1921 census living at North Regina Village, Saskatchewan, Canada: David Gates 32, Anna Gates 33, Glenn Gates 8, Norman Gates 6, Violet Gates 10 mos, Jack Hulton 17.

Anna Gates died on February 28, 1958 at Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada and is buried at the Regina Memorial Gardens, Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada.

There is a memorial for her at Find a Grave #29371583 with a photo of the couple's gravestone.
