RUDD, IOWA - Patricia Kielsmeier, 76, of Rudd passed away Monday, April 13, 2015, at the Nora Springs Care Center after a long battle of ill health.

Patty was born April 27, 1938, in Mason City to Aline (Factor) and Gerald (Happy Jake) Earnist. She attended school in Rudd.

On October 15, 1955, Patty married Norman (Tex) Kielsmeier. To this union three children were born: Kimberly Winters of Rudd; Kevin of Rockford and Kelly Miller of Wichita, Kansas.

Patty started her career at the age of 12 as a waitress at Rudd Cafe. In 1965 she was the first bartender to serve liquor by the drink. She continued her career beyond retirement until her health gave out.

Patty was very well known for her fast service. She was also an avid pool player on the Women's Pool League.

Patty collected Coca-Cola items and teddy bears.

Patty is survived by her husband of 59 years, Norman (Tex) Kielsmeier of Rudd; three children: Kimberly, Kevin and Kelly. Four grandchildren: Jake (Kathie) Winters of Charles City, Levi Kielsmeier of Cedar Falls, Heidi (Phoebe) Bruster of Winfield, Kansas, and Dakota Miller of Wichita, Kansas; and one great-grandson, Jordan Winters. She's also survived by sisters Cheryl Hobbs of Mason City, Linda (Gene) Kappers of Cherry Grove, Minnesota, Mary (Jerry) Wills Smith of Iowa Falls; sister-in-law Angel Earnist of Iowa Falls; sister-in-law Wilma Smith of Des Moines and several nieces and nephews.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, Gerald and Marge Earnist; mother Aline Moe; Art and Grace Kielsmeier; Patsy (Kielsmeier) Jordan; brother Wayne Earnist; brother-in-law Gale Hobbs; sister Lola Wills.

In lieu of flowers, direct memorials to the family: Box 143, Rudd, IA 50471.

Since there will be no funeral, the family is hosting a Celebration of Life at Tank's Bar & Grill in Rudd on Saturday, April 18, from noon to 4 p.m. Lunch will be served.
