KILLED BY TRAIN.

Ammon H. Johnston, Rockford Man, 8truck While Driving Across the Rock Island Tracks.

Rockford, Aug. 5.--(Special)--

Ammon H. Johnston, an employe of the Rockford Creamery Co., was struck by Rock Island passenger train No. 31, northbound, yesterday, and he
and his team of horses were instantly killed. He leaves a wife and five small children, all under 10 years of age.

This is a very dangerous crossing and much complaint has been made by the people in the surrounding country on account of its unprotected condition.

Three serious accidents have occurred there this year.
