Ira Franklin Roberts – April 20, 1866 – June 11, 1937

CONDUCT RITES OF IRA ROBERTS
NORA SPRINGS PIONEER WAS BORN IN 1866 ON FARM HOMESTEAD

Nora Springs – Funeral services for Ira Roberts, 71, were held at the Roberts home conducted by the Rev. G. A. Hess of Grant Park, Illinois, former pastor here, and at Charles City. Burial was in Rock Grove cemetery.

Mr. Roberts, son of William and Fanny Roberts, pioneers, was born April 20, 1866, on the old farm homestead near Nora Springs where he lived all his life and where he died. He attended the Rock Grove School.

On February 14, 1889, he was married to Miss Margaret E. Noah. To this union three children were born, Bertha Bell, deceased, and Edna and Mary. Mrs. Roberts died 14 years and two days before her husband’s death.

He was a member of Granite Rock I.O.O.F. Lodge No. 200 for 38 years and was a member of the Rebekah Lodge No. 483.

He is survived by his two daughters, Edna and Mary, at home, and by a sister, Mrs. Clara Amos of Wenatchee, Washington, and by two brothers, W. E. Roberts of Mason City and Wilson Roberts of Nora Springs.
