CHARLES CITY, IOWA - Delores G. Vierkant, 84, of Charles City, and formerly of Waterloo, Iowa, died Sunday, March 8, 2015, at the Chautauqua Guest Home, Charles City.

She was born July 7, 1930 in Iowa City, daughter of Vern P. and Eva Ann Awe Hathaway. She married Laverne H. Vierkant May 21, 1950 in Rockwell. They were later divorced.

Delores was employed at the Melvin Guest Home in Waterloo for many years.

Survivors include a son, Gregory Vierkant of Charles City; two daughters, Deborah Powers of Warren, Michigan, and Kathy Larson of Cedar Falls; 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren and two on the way; three brothers, Charles and Clifford Hathaway both of Rockwell and Michael Hathaway of Colorado, and a sister, Dorothy Taylor of Pueblo, Colorado.

She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Christina Vierkant; two sons-in-law, James Larson and Robert Powers; a brother, James Hathaway; and a sister, Sharon Meyers.

There will be no services. Entombment will be in Memorial Park Columbarium in Mason City.
