Mark Hruska, 35, of Des Moines, formerly of Charles City, died Sunday, March 1, 2015 at his residence in Des Moines.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home on Saturday, March 7, 2015 from 4 to 8:00 p.m.

Mark Edward Hruska, the son of Michael Hruska and Sharon (Boes) Hruska, was born July 13, 1979 in Charles City. He received his education in Charles City graduating from Charles City High School in 1998. While growing up, Mark was involved in the Cub Scouts, 4-H, sports, school band, school choir and was employed at The Comet Bowl throughout middle school and high school. He attended Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo for one year before moving to Des Moines to begin his career with Vision Systems where he worked his way up in the company achieving the title of Regional Sales Manager. Mark really enjoyed tent camping, fishing, bowling, golfing and had recently taken up bow hunting with his brother, Brad. He loved to spend time with his family, especially his three nieces whom he taught to play guitar.

Living family members include his mother, Sharon Hruska of Charles City; father, Michael Hruska of Charles City; brother, Brad (Bethany) Hruska of Charles City; three nieces, Maya, Nora and Ella; maternal grandmother, Beverly Boes of Watertown, South Dakota; paternal grandmother, Naomi Hruska of Decorah; his beloved beagle and constant companion, Gravy; along with numerous aunts, uncles, other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Verlin Boes and his paternal grandfather, Lawrence Hruska.
