Lucinda Mahala (Post) Grover – October 2, 1849 – April 1930

MANY ATTEND GROVER FUNERAL
MRS. LUCINDA GROVER, 83, ROCKFORD BURIED IN ROCK GROVE

Rockford, April 9. – Funeral services for Mrs. Lucinda Mahala Grover 81, were held Monday afternoon at the Methodist Church with the Rev. C. E. Luce preaching the funeral sermon.

Mrs. Grover was born October 2, 1849 in New York and came to Rock Grove in 1875. In 1869 she married George W Grover, who preceded her in death nine months. Mr. Grover was a veteran of the Civil war and a member of the iron brigade. They moved to Rockford in 1909 where they made their home since that time.

She is survived by one sister, Lida Post, who made her home with the family and six children, six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren.
The sons and daughters, all of whom were present at the funeral, are: Miss Estelle Grover, Rockford; Perry Grover, Rockford; Herbert Grover, Nora Springs; Charles Grover, Mason City; Lynn Grover, Sheboygan, Wisconsin; Mrs. Elsie Krugler, Rockford. Two granddaughters, Mrs. Hazel Frenz and Mrs. Ruth Pope and a great-grandson, John Charles Frenz of Mason City, were present.

Burial was made in the Rock Grove Cemetery where Mr. Grover was buried.

Lucinda Mahala Post was born October 2, 1849 in New York, the daughter of Peter Post and Mary (Ayers) Post. She married George Wallace Grover, the son of Isaac Reed Grover and Rozilla (Devreaus) Grover.
