RETIRED FARM WOMAN DIES AT CHARLES CITY
Charles City, Iowa – Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday for Mrs. Will Mackaben, 68, of 402 South Iowa Street, former farm woman, who died at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday at her home. The Rev. Walter M Fritschel, pastor of St. John’s Lutheran Church officiated and burial was in Riverside Cemetery. She had suffered from a heart condition for several years.
Mrs. Mackaben was born May 2, 1883 at Rock Grove, daughter of Willa and Dora Averill Brockett. Her first husband, Orange Castle, died in 1928. She was married to Will Mackaben February 18, 1947, and the couple lived on a farm north of here for 2 ˝ years before moving to Charles City last year.
Survivors are her husband; four sons, Charles Castle, Charles City; Vern, Seth and Deloss Castle, all of Rockford; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
