Henrietta “Etta” (Boyer) Breakey – March 6, 1857 – March 26, 1943

HOLD RITES FOR MRS. E. BREAKEY
NORA SPRINGS WOMAN DIES FOLLOWING STROKE

Nora Springs – Funeral services were held at 2:30 Sunday afternoon for Mrs. Etta Breakey, 86, who died at her home Friday afternoon. She had suffered a paralytic stroke about a week previous to her death, and was found lying on the bedroom floor in her home, where she lived alone, on Saturday, March 20th.

The rites were held in the Church of Christ, of which she was a member, with the pastor Stanley L. Haynes of Mason City officiating. Burial was in Rock Grove Cemetery, south of Nora Springs.

Mrs. Breakey, nee Henrietta Augustin Boyer, was born March 6, 1857, in Union county, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Solomon and Lydia Ann Boyer. In 1874 she was married to James Breakey, who died in 1913.

Surviving are four daughters: Mrs. George Cook of Marshfield, Oregon; Mrs. Louis Glassell of Brea, California; Mrs. John Deach of Mason City; and Mrs. Jack Scheffel of Nora Springs; three sons, M. L. Breakey and John Breakey of Nora Springs, and Ralph Breakey of Portland, Oregon; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and a half- sister. A son, albert, died in 1938.
