Eileen was born on April 4, 1936 in Camden, New Jersey to James Raymond Murphy, Sr. and Jeannette Louise (Davidson) Murphy. She grew up in New Jersey and attended school through the 10th grade. On September 12, 1953 she was united in marriage to Gerald “Jerry” Winters, Sr. Jerry was in the United States Army and together they resided in New Jersey for several years. To their union ten children were born, two girls and eight boys. In 1954 the family moved to Iowa. Eileen and Jerry had 25 years together then later divorced but remained friends. She was very involved with the boys’ wrestling and racing. As a hobby Eileen collected clowns and was known as, “the clown lady.” She was very crafty and made photo albums along with other items.
