GREENE, IOWA - Laura Josephine Frascht, 98, of Greene, died Monday, October 24, 2005, at the Nora Springs Care Center, Nora Springs, Iowa.

She was born April 12, 1907, on the family farm near Oakwood, Floyd County, daughter of George Edward and Mary Catherine Katcher Osier. She married Leo Mattias Frascht on Sept. 30, 1925, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Roseville. He died August 10, 1980.

In early years, Mrs. Frascht had worked for Dr. McQuillon in Charles City.

Survivors include three daughters, Louise (Luverne) Wagner of Osage, Anne Frascht of Nora Springs and Carol Schuknecht of Palm Desert, Calif.; five sons, Andy and Richard (Sharon), both of Marble Rock, Earl (Joan) of Greene, Carl of Council Bluffs and Paul (Karen) of Grinnell; 38 grandchildren, 93 great-grandchildren and 23 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Catherine Rex of Clovis, Calif.; and a sister-in-law, Geraldine Osier of Greene.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Florence and Helen; three sons-in-law, Robert Crabtree, Roger Schuknecht and Thomas Roosa; a daughter-in-law, Cheryl Frascht; three grandsons and a great-grandson; two brothers, Donald and Gilbert Osier; and five sisters, Mabel Koenigsfeld, Elizabeth Frascht, Magdaline Popes, Mildred Koenigsfeld and Margaret Gabel.

Services: were 10:30 a.m. today at St. Mary#'s Catholic Church, Greene, with burial in the church cemetery. Reid's Funeral Chapel, Greene, was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to Laura Frascht Memorial Fund in care of the family.
