Charles "Cuda" Shindelar, 58, of Charles City, died Tuesday, December 9, 2014, at the Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City.

Funeral services for Charlie Shindelar will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Hauser Funeral Home. Reverend Gary Mayer of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery at Charles City.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, and an hour prior to the service on Friday.

Charles Leo Shindelar was born February 19, 1956, at Decorah, the son of Vaclav "Jim" and Edna (Jacobs) Shindelar. He graduated in 1974 from Charles City High School and in 1983 from North Iowa Area Community College. On November 26, 1986, he was united in marriage to Margaret "Marge" Weigel at Charles City. Over the years Charlie worked at Ray's Pizza Factory, White Farm Equipment Company, Tri-Mark and John Deere. He was a member of the Farm Bureau, Floyd County Historical Society, and United Auto Workers of America Local 838. Charlie enjoyed going to auctions, movies and concerts as well as watching American Pickers.

Living family members include his wife, Marge Shindelar of Charles City; two children, Cassey Shindelar of Iowa City and Nathan Shindelar of Charles City; grandson Preston Shindelar (Grandpa's Little Man); brothers, Edward Shindelar of Osage and Edgar Shindelar of Ankeny; sister, Charlene (Tom) Ahern of Ankeny; and many nieces, nephews, family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
