NORA SPRINGS, IOWA - Theodore H. “Ted” Arndt Jr., 77, of Nora Springs, died Tuesday, December 2, 2014, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City, surrounded by his family and friends.
A celebration of Ted’s life will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, December 6, 2014, at the Rock Falls Community Center, 3 N. Nottingham St., Rock Falls. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Park Cemetery, Nora Springs.
The family will greet friends at a public viewing from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E., Mason City.
Memorials may be given to Salvation Army Adult Daycare Center, Mason City.

Theodore Henry Arndt, Jr. was born May 14, 1937 at Mason City, a son of Ted H. Sr. and Margaret (Nelson) Arndt. He was united in marriage to Beverly J. Fish on September 5, 1958 at Church of Christ, Mason City.
Ted attended Mason City schools and was a 1955 graduate of Nora Springs High School.
He worked at the Portland Cooperative, Portland, Iowa following high school. He served in the US Army. Following his discharge, he returned to Nora Springs, where he worked in the grain business for 40 years. He owned and operated Rock Falls Grain, Rock Falls.
Later, he worked at Allied Construction, Charles City, during the construction of the Avenue of the Saints.
He especially loved watching and being involved in his grandchildren’s sports and school activities. He enjoyed spending time with his “granddogs”.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Arndt, Nora Springs; son, Randi (Diane) Arndt, Rock Falls; daughters, Pam Meyer, Johnston, Brenda Schultz, Nora Springs, Penny (Rob) Sturges, Mason City; grandchildren, Chloe, Jennifer, Morgan, Kelby, Parker, and Stone; brother, Bruce Arndt, Nora Springs; sisters, Phyllis Kelley, Nora Springs, Marlys Kramm, Nora Springs, Peggy (Jerry) Majewski, Plymouth; brother- in- law, Larry Fish, Palm City, FL; sister-in-law, Shirley Herndon, Mason City, several nieces and nephews; special friends, Brad and Sue Pederson, Nora Springs.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Kathy Arndt, in infancy; brothers, Morris and Harold Arndt; son in-law Denny Schultz; brothers- in-law, Tom Kelly, Larry Herndon; sister-in-law, Suk Fish.
