Donna May Starkey, 71, of Mason City, formerly Charles City, died Tuesday, November 18, 2014, at the Heritage Care and Rehabilitation Center in Mason City.

Funeral services for Donna Starkey will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 24, 2014, at Hauser Funeral Home. Pastor Patty Kellogg will officiate. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Charles City.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home one hour prior to the service on Monday.

Donna May Putney Starkey, the daughter of Herman and Clara (Parker) Putney, was born May 12, 1943 in Charles City. She was educated in the Charles City school system.

On September 26, 1959, Donna was united in marriage to Clyde H. Starkey, Sr. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Charles City. The couple made their home in Charles City and Donna stayed at home to raise their family. In 1976, Donna began working at the 9th Street Chautauqua Guest Home as a Nurse's Aide and remained there for six years. She then took a Supervisor position at Comprehensive Systems for four years, worked in Home Health for a few years and ended her working career as a Unit Clerk at Mercy Medical Center North Iowa in Mason City.

Donna was a past member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church where she was involved with the St. Rose Circle. She also helped her children in their activities as a Cub Scout and Girl Scout Leader. Donna really enjoyed going dancing with Clyde, traveling on several vacations together, camping and sewing. She loved her family very much and would do a lot of the organizing for family gatherings.

Living family members include her children: Debbra Starkey of Mason City, Clyde Starkey, Jr. of Ft. Wayne, Indiana and Christina Starkey of Mason City; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; siblings: Gene (Marilyn) Putney, Jack (Denise) Putney, Glenn "Bob" (Sarah) Putney, Linda (Tim) Boehmer and Joe (Ellen) Putney; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clyde; daughter, Connie Johnson; son, Scott Starkey; three brothers: Herman, Ray and James Putney; and sister, Juanita McCloud.
