Steven Schilling, 57, of Charles City, loving son of Jean and Jeanette Schilling, passed away suddenly Saturday evening, November 15, 2014, in the home he shared with his sister Jennifer.

A funeral Mass for Steven Schilling will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 20, 2014, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Reverend Gary Mayer will celebrate the Mass. Inurnment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Charles City at a later date.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, November 19, 2014, and one hour prior to the Mass at the church on Thursday.

Steve was a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa and began his career in his hometown with Salsbury Laboratories. After several years, he moved to Michigan following in his father's footsteps, achieving success in insurance sales.

Steve lived most of his adult life in his home in Saugatuck, Michigan, where he had many dear and wonderful friends with whom he shared endless good times together. He loved and cherished them all. Steve relocated to Charles City last fall and began making new memories in the home and backyard of his youngest sister, Jennifer. He had a great love for the outdoors and all that it included, especially socializing around the bonfire.

Steve was a Harley Davidson enthusiast and attended Sturgis multiple times. In his earlier years, he was fearless in Motocross competitions where he acquired many trophies.

Steve's generous heart, his warm and magnetic smile and laughter, the pureness of his soul will be truly missed and never forgotten. He was a friend to all. Goodbye friend. You were loved.

Steve is survived by his father, J.A. Schilling and his seven siblings: Debra, Kathryn, Rebecca, Laurie, Thomas, Ann and Jennifer.

He was preceded in death by his beloved and beautiful mother, Jeanette in 2011.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family.
