Sigurd Herloff Norby

Sigurd Herloff Norby was born in Rock Grove Township, Floyd County, Iowa, on May 19, 1888 to Olaus and Sigrid Fosholdt Norby. He was baptized and confirmed in the Rock Creek Lutheran church where he was a member until his death. He attended the public school of his district and later the St. Ansgar seminary.

On March 6, 1912, he was united in marriage with Miss Adella Elizabeth Dahley of the Rock Creek community and since their marriage he had devoted his life to farming in different places in this vicinity. About five years ago he bought the farm on which he lived in rural Nora Springs, Iowa until his death.

In his wedlock three children were born: Sidney, Dorothy, and Donald.

His wife and children survive him. Also surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Olaus Norby of Osage; a brother, Tillman of rural Rudd; a sister, Mrs. Joseph (Martha) Hagen; and his aged grandfather, S.J. Fosholdt.

A number of uncles and aunts along with other relatives and numerous friends mourn his untimely death.
