CHARLES CITY, IOWA - Theresia “Tracy” Bromley Reser, 99, of Charles City died Tuesday, October 7, 2014, at the 9th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 11, at Grace United Methodist Church in Floyd with Pastor Jan Tjaden officiating. Burial will be at Sunnyside Memory Gardens, rural Charles City, at 1:30 p.m.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10, at Hauser Funeral Home, Charles City, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.

Theresia "Tracy" Bromley Reser, 99, of Charles City died Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at the 9th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City.

Funeral services for Tracy Reser will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 11, 2014 at Grace United Methodist Church in Floyd. Pastor Jan Tjaden will officiate. Burial will be at Sunnyside Memory Gardens in rural Charles City at 1:30 p.m.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, October 10, 2014 and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.

Theresia Elizabeth (Ullrich) Bromley Reser, the daughter of John Frank and Christina Pauline (Schwab) Ullrich, was born May 23, 1915 in Marathon, Iowa. She received an 8th grade education at Maple Grove Country School. Tracy was united in marriage to Charles Edward Bromley on March 16, 1934. This union was blessed with six children: Charles, Shirley Ann, Larry Charles, Nancy Lee, Judy Kay and Carolyn Mary. Charles died December 16, 1952.

Tracy later married Earl F. Reser on December 2, 1953 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Her family was blessed with the addition of two step-children: Donald and Mary Lou.

Tracy was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother who loved her family very much; they were the light of her life. She was a long time member of Grace United Methodist Church in Floyd and she loved her church family very much. In her spare time Tracy enjoyed gardening, embroidery (especially her hundreds of dish towels), canning, freezing, baking (especially pies), reading and playing cards with her family.

Due to health reasons Tracy has spent the last five years at the 9th Street Chautauqua Guest Home. She made many special friends at 9th Street over the years and the family wishes to thank them for showing Tracy such warm compassion.

Living family members include her four daughters: Shirley Ann (Chris) Cordes of Lakeview, Arkansas, Nancy Norby of Rudd, Judy (Charles) Thorson of Charles City and Carolyn Mooberry of Leesburg, Florida; daughter-in-law, Marlene Bromley of Tilden, Nebraska; step-children: Donald (Jo Ann) Reser and Mary Lou (Denny) Helmers all of Charles City; 22 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; two sisters: Christina Hansen of Waterloo and Anna Wirth of Minnesota; along with several nieces, nephews, other family members and a host of friends (especially those at 9th Street).

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles; 2nd husband, Earl; infant son, Charles; son, Larry C. Bromley; grandson, Jim Mooberry; sister, Gertrude Rice; brother, Herman Ullrich; and two sons-in-law, Ray Norby and Jerry Mooberry.
