CHARLES CITY, IOWA - Eleanor "Ellie" Goddard, 85, of Charles City, died Friday, September 19, 2014, at Cedar Health in Charles City.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, at the Hauser Funeral Home. Pastor Patty Kellogg will officiate. Burial will take place at Sunnyside Memory Gardens in rural Charles City.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Tuesday.

In lieu of flowers please direct memorials to the family.

The Hauser Funeral Home, 641-228-2323, in Charles City, is in charge of arrangements.

Eleanor "Ellie" Goddard, 85, of Charles City, died Friday, September 19, 2014 at Cedar Health in Charles City surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral services for Ellie Goddard will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at the Hauser Funeral Home. Pastor Patty Kellogg will officiate. Burial will take place at Sunnyside Memory Gardens in rural Charles City.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Tuesday.

Eleanor Grace Goddard, the daughter of Wallace and Merle (Bragg) Price, was born July 3, 1929 in Greene, Iowa. She was educated at Charles City High School.

On February 1, 1947, Ellie was united in marriage to Marvin Goddard in Charles City. The couple made their home in Nashua where they raised their family. Marvin died on June 14, 1979, but Ellie stayed in Nashua and worked at the 9th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City as part of the food service team. She later moved to Milford for a few years before returning to Charles City.

Ellie loved to play games, especially card games, and would go to dances at various dance halls. She really enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Living family members include her children: Linda (Richard) Kellogg of Fort Dodge, Gary (Carol) Goddard of Nashua, Larry (Pauline) Goddard of Owatonna, Minnesota and Sherri (Tim) Nelson of Austin, Minnesota; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson, Briden; along with nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marvin; brother, Robert Price; and two sisters: Pearl Guess and Phyllis Niebergall.
