Ardith Irene Andersen

Ardith Irene Andersen, 71, were held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 22, 1996, at Lindstrom Funeral Home in Cresco, Iowa. The Rev. Robert Holdorf officiated.

She died on November 19, 1996, at LaCrosse Lutheran Hospital following complications from surgery.

Ardith Irene Andersen was born September 12, 1925, at Charles City, Iowa, the daughter of Harry and Addie (Hill) Fitzgerald. She graduated from Charles City High School in 1943 and also graduated from Jane Lamb Nursing School in 1946.

On December 22, 1949, Ardith married A. C. "Chet" Andersen at Iowa City, Iowa. They lived in Rudd, Iowa, for 23 years and moved to the Cresco area in 1972.

Ardith worked as nurse at the Charles City Hospital and at the Chautauqua Nursing Home.

Survivors are her husband; one daughter, Loretta "Lorie" Waters of Plymouth, Iowa; three sons, Michael of Apple Valley, Minnesota; Mark of Skiatook, Oklahoma; and Eric of Lime Springs, Iowa; seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; two sisters, Geraldine Fitzgerald and Arline Miller, both of Nashua, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Ethel Mae Henderson.
