NORA SPRINGS, IOWA - Delores Bell, 87, of Nora Springs, died Thursday, September 4, 2014, at the IOOF Home in Mason City.

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2014, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Mason City, with the Rev. Sean McRoberts of the First United Methodist Church officiating.

There will be a gathering of family and friends one hour prior to the service.

Inurnment will be at the Park Cemetery in Nora Springs.

Memorials may be directed to the Delores Bell memorial fund in care of the family. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.majorericksonfuneralhome.com .

Delores Borack was born in St. Louis, Missouri, to Wm and Jalie Rosales (Bennett) Borack. The family moved to Mason City, Iowa, when she was two years of age and she attended Mason City grade school and high school. She married Malcolm Bell in May of 1944, and they moved to the farm where she spent her entire life and raised three children: Sharon, Diana, and Douglas.

She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She attended the sporting events of all her grandchildren. Delores also enjoyed bowling in women’s league in Nora Springs, 500 Club with her card group, and gardening. She belonged to the community club for many years.

Delores is survived by three children: Sharon Bell of Vail, Colorado, Diana Blood and husband Jim of Sheffield, Iowa, and Douglas Bell and wife Patsy of Nora Springs; six grandchildren: Tracy Shreckengost and husband Tim, Shelley Sheppard and husband Steve, Erin Suntken and husband Darin, and Jamie Stanbrough and husband Dan - all of Sheffield, Kevin Bell of Iowa City, Iowa, and Emily Bell of Kuwait City, Kuwait; 11 great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Mary Cross of Denver, Colordao.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Malcolm in 2012; half-brother: Robert Borack; and two sisters-in-law: Verda Jacobs and Arcley Nelson.
