CHARLES CITY, IOWA - Sharron Freiberg, 74, of Charles City, died Thursday, September 4, 2014, at Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 8, 2014, at the Hauser Funeral Home. Pastor Martha Bennett from Grace United Methodist Church in Floyd will officiate.

Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery at Charles City.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, September 7, 2014, and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Monday.

Sharron Freiberg, 74, of Charles City died Thursday, September 4, 2014 at the Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City.

Funeral services for Sharron Freiberg will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 8, 2014 at the Hauser Funeral Home. Pastor Martha Bennett from Grace United Methodist Church in Floyd will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery at Charles City.

Sharron Freiberg, the daughter of Alvin and Virginia (Gilliam) Magneson, was born December 9, 1939 in Des Moines, Iowa. She attended school in Des Moines before her family moved to Charles City where she finished her education.

Sharron was united in marriage to William Freiberg in Charles City on May 1, 1959. The couple made their home in Charles City where they raised their family. She worked in the office at White Farm until it closed. Sharron's greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She always had the gummy bears handy and the children were very thankful for "Grandma Gummy."

Living family members include her husband William "Bill" of Charles City; children: Deb (Randy) Hofstede of Redington Beach, Florida, Terri (Curt) Sargent of Floyd, Chuck (Sherri) Freiberg of Osage, Bill (Lori) Freiberg of Hopkins, Minnesota and LeAnn (Jeff) Spencer of Nora Springs; grandchildren: Markie Jo Severin, Dave (Lindsey) Sargent, Jessica Sargent (special friend Jess Sprung), Susan (Justin) Ellison, Matthew Freiberg, Ruth Ann Freiberg, Josey Spencer and Jamie Spencer; great-grandchildren: Remi, Blake, Jackson, James and Jacqueline; three sisters: Alta Magneson, Helen (Paul) Nefzger and Colleen Shannon; brother Jim Magneson; as well as several nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Deloris.
