Merrick Funeral Rites Scheduled at Marble Rock

Marble Rock, Ia. --The funeral of Horatio N. Merrick will be conducted Wednesday at 2:30 at the family home.

Mr. Merrick died Monday at this residence here. He had been prominent in Marble Rock and vicinity for many years.

He was born at Rockford, Ill., on April 18, 1859, as one of a family of 12, nine sons and three daughters.

He married Miss Ella Tift, who died Dec. 19, 1911. His second marriage, on Nov. 18, 1914, was to Miss Lola Walker of Jesup.

Surviving are the widow, two adopted daughters: Mrs. Hayman, Indianola, and Mrs. William Blencoe, and two sisters, Mrs. Helen Dye, Pasadena, Cal., and Mrs. Lulu Bishop, Ontario, Cal.
