MR. FRED VANDERVOORT PASSES AWAY

Mr. Fred Vandervoort died Wednesday afternoon at the Cedar Valley hospital at Charles City, where he had been receiving treatment for some days. Death resulted from injuries received over a year ago, when he was struck by a truck while working on the pavement.

He was born at Dundas, Minnesota, March 4, 1872, and had spent the greater part of his life in this vicinity. He was unmarried, and leaves to mourn his loss, three sisters, Mrs. Philip Ritter of Aredale, Mrs. J.M. Calkins and Mrs. L. Reynolds of Charles City. Funeral services in charge of the Marble Rock I.O.O.F., of which order he was a member, were held at the Christian church here Friday afternoon, with the sermon by Rev. G. Hess of Charles City, and selections sung by Mrs. Charles Moore and Mrs. W.C. Wilson, accompanied by Mrs. R.B. Bullemer. Interment was in the Hill Side cemetery at this place.
