MISS LILLIE REED PASSES AWAY

Sister of Edgar Reed Died Monday In Los Angeles, Calif.

Word was received here Tuesday announcing the death of Miss Lillie Reed, formerly of Rockford, at her home in Los Angeles, Calif., on Monday, November 24th, 1919.

Miss Reed was as sister of Edgar Reed of Marble Rock and of the late Mrs. Ralph Horr of Marble Rock., and was well known here.

Miss Reed and Mrs. Horr were the only girls in the Reed family and their deaths so near together makes it indeed very sad for the remaining brothers and other relatives, who have the sincere sympathy of the entire community in their bereavement.

The other brothers, W.H. Reed, of Chicago and M.M. Reed of Los Angeles, Calif., will accompany the remains to Rockford, and it is expected that they will arrive Saturday.

A short funeral service will be held at the grave at Rockford. A complete obituary will appear next week.

Obituary - Lillie Ette Reed

Lillie Ette Reed was born April 8, 1866 at Rockford, Iowa and died at Los Angeles, California on November 24th, 1919. She was a daughter of Edwin Samuel Reed and Eliza Ette Reed. All of her life was spent at Rockford, Iowa with the exception of the past few months which were spent in California.

Miss Reed was a Past Worthy Matron of the order of the Eastern star and an active member of the M.E. church, Pythian Sisters and Daughters of the American Revolution.

She is survived by her three brothers: Edgar C. Reed of Marble Rock, Iowa, Willis H. Reed, of Chicago and Mark W. Reed of Los Angeles, Calif.

Funeral services were held at the home of Miss Anna Mitchell, Monday, Dec. 1, 1919 at 2 o'clock. Interment was made in the Rockford cemetery.
