NORA SPRINGS, IOWA - Florence Gratias of Waukee, and formerly of Nora Springs, died on July 28, 2014, in Waukee.

A funeral service will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Nora Springs at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 1, 2014.

Visitation will be held at the church at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 1.

WAUKEE - Florence Gratias, 98, of Waukee, and formerly of Nora Springs, passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2014, in Waukee.

A Funeral Service will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Nora Springs on Friday, August 1, 2014, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Wendy Johannesen officiating.

Visitation will be held beginning at 9:30 a.m. and continuing until the time of the service on Friday.

Burial at Evergreen Cemetery in Rudd, Iowa, following the service.

Florence’s family requests that memorial contributions be made to First Methodist Church in Nora Springs or the Eden Presbyterian Church in Rudd.

Florence was born on February 6, 1916, in Rock Falls, Iowa, to Harry and Agnes (Roethke) Weitze and was born on the Weitze home farm where her father was also born.

She went to school at Rock Falls High School and graduated in 1933. Florence lived in the Nora Springs area until 2012, when she moved to Waukee, Iowa.

She was married to Walter Gratias on February 20, 1937.

Florence is survived by her son, Gordon (Sharon) Gratias of West Des Moines, Iowa, her daughters, Loretta (Pat) Gratias-Bremer, of Countryside, Illinois, Shirley (Gerry) Witt of West Dundee, Illinois, and Debbie (Phil) Norton of Bloomfield, Iowa, 13 Grandchildren, 21 Great-Grandchildren, five Nieces and six Nephews. Florence is preceded in death by her parents and Husband.
